How do we know that the ocean is friendly?……It waves. 

The ocean may be friendly with waves, but your carpets most certainly are not. If your carpets are waving, or have waves rather, it can cost you dearly in the future. 

Bumps and waves in your carpet mean that the backings have relaxed too much. After a professional carpet cleaning some clients will also notice waves while the carpet is wet that appear to flatten once dry. All the cases above indicate the carpets are now too loose, and need to be re stretched. 

How does this happen? Good Question! 

Many factors contribute to this common ripple effect including; the environment, weather, frequency of use and traffic wear; along with quality of padding and carpet in general. 

The first way carpets in this condition cost you money is early replacement. The backing being that loose causes friction and premature deterioration which significantly shortens the life of the carpet. New carpets aren’t cheap, so if you can double the existing life that’s a great investment, right? 

The second and most alarming way loose carpets can hit you in the wallet would be medical bills. Medical bills you ask? Indeed! All those little speed bumps can be a serious tripping hazard, and once we start falling, its pretty hard to stop until something stops us. Hopefully its just the floor, but there are many things in our homes that can injure us, so why take the chance?
